LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 19, 2011) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce the addition of the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association (GHVCA) to the organization's Affiliate Partner Program. The AVCA Affiliate Partner Program was established in 2007 to build relationships between the association and high school volleyball coaches across the country.

As an AVCA Affiliate Partner, GHVCA member coaches can join the AVCA at a discounted rate, and will receive the educational tools, product/member discounts, publications and other benefits of being an AVCA member.

In addition, the AVCA will assist with the marketing and promotion of the the organization's annual volleyball coaches clinics.  An AVCA representative will be on hand at the clinics to make a short presentation and answer any AVCA-related questions.

"The Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association is very proud to become a partner with AVCA through their Affiliate Partner Program," said John Turner, GHVCA President.  "This is going to be a long-lasting partnership that will provide our members with a chance to participate in top-notch educational programs, awards and recognition for all levels of coaching, and most of all an association that will be there for a coach's every need."

"GHVCA is proud to be the first volleyball coaching association in the state of Texas to become an affiliate partner with the AVCA," Turner continued.  "As president of GHVCA, I want the coaches in the Houston area to have the opportunity to get the best training they possible can through the educational programs that AVCA has to offer, including onsite clinics, online webinars, and other materials offered to them by the AVCA.  It is a very exciting time for our association, being that we are a fairly new organization in the Houston area.  This partnership will really help get the word out about GHVCA."

"The AVCA is always looking for vibrant associations and dynamic leaders who share our love of volleyball," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "In the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association we have found both.  Knitting together local programming and 24-7 access to educational materials prepared by the best coaches in the country is a proven formula for success."

Greater Houston becomes the 13th organization to join forces with the AVCA Affiliate Partner Program.  They join Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin as AVCA affiliate partners. There have also been ongoing efforts for Northern California to join the affiliate ranks, as well.
