Cola Svec, a senior setter for then-No. 10 University of Nebraska Kearney has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She earned the award after helping the Lopers to a couple of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference wins last week in dominating fashion over Colorado Mines and UC-Colorado Springs, losing just one combined set.  Svec put on a show in Golden collecting 58 assists and 12 digs while racking up 40 assists and nine digs in a sweep in Colorado Springs.  She directed an offense that averaged 17.43 kills per set and hit .249 while also supplying two blocks, two aces and two kills over the course of the weekend. This marks the sixth time a Nebraska-Kearney athlete has garnered Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honors, the last time coming nearly one year ago on Nov. 10 when Nikki Scott earned the distinction. The Lopers are coached by Rick Squires.
