ROLL CALL
Absent from the call were: Sue Sinclair, Lisa Davis, Trish Knight, Patty Harrison, Jane Peterson. Mike Trame hosted the meeting in Sue's absence.

I. Welcome

Mike welcome everyone to the meeting and explained that he was hosting this month's all as Sue was preparing for this week's volleyball playoffs and some other obligations at her school.

II. Reminders

Mike reminded everyone about an email that was sent out recently by Trish Knight about promoting your student athletes by creating a recruiting packet for any Two-Year College players. This could then be distributed at the upcoming tournament. The deadline to get your information to Trish is this Friday, Nov. 10th. If you did not get the email with the information about this, please send an email to Mike and he will forward it to you.

III. Agenda Items for the AVCA Convention

Mike opened the floor to ideas and suggestions for agenda items to be discussed at the Two-Year College Committee meetings at the upcoming AVCA Convention in Omaha. The topics that were suggested by the committee are:

* Introductions: Introduce the Committee and talk about what has taken place over the last year.
* NCAA Clearinghouse: How the NCAA Clearinghouse works and how to get your athletes through the process? (Possibly have an AVCA representative to talk about this idea.)
* Awards: How the awards process works.
* AVCA Membership: Discuss ways to increase and promote AVCA membership.
* Rules Changes: Discuss the new rules as we move ahead towards 2007.
* Tournaments: Discuss tournament guidelines, including host institution responsibilities, length of games, and other information that was sent out with the last Two-Year College committee minutes.

An idea was also brought up about possibly having a booth at the convention for Two-Year colleges, in which coaches could hand out packets of information and talk to coaches about their players. The question arose as to whether this would be allowed under NCAA rules. A couple committee members did not think it would. Mike to bring it to Sue's attention for further consideration.

IV: AVCA Convention Schedule and Speakers

Mike reminded everyone to take a look at the AVCA web site for the updated schedule discussing all of the speakers and seminars that will be taking place. (Click on one of the following two links for AVCA Convention Information: (General AVCA Convention Info and AVCA Schedule.)

V. Request for Two-Year College Panel Member at Convention

Mike passed on a request from Mark McCloskey for a volunteer Two-Year College coach to sit on a panel discussion at the AVCA convention on the topic of: What to do if you lose. Mike and Ericka Elder both volunteered to sit on the panel. (Note: Mark McCloskey of the AVCA said that only one volunteer was needed. In a phone call with Mike, he said he would do it.)

VI: Next committee meeting

The next meeting of the Two-Year Head Coaches will be at the AVCA convention in Omaha, Nebraska. Meeting times are currently scheduled as follows. However, please note that time and location could change. Please check daily schedule at the convention.
* Two-Year College Committee Meeting (Committee Only): Wednesday, Dec. 13, 5-6 p.m. at the Hilton
* Two-Year College General Meeting Session 1: Thursday, Dec. 14, 9-10:30 at the Qwest Center
* Two-Year College General Meeting Session 2: Friday, Dec. 15, 11:30 - 12:30 at the Hilton
* NJCAA Committee Meeting: Friday, Dec. 15, 8-9:30 at the Hilton
