Josh Riley, a 6-3 senior outside hitter for Long Beach State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week.  Riley led the 49ers to an upset win over the then-No. 4 ranked Stanford Cardinal in the MPSF quarterfinals.  The California native came off the bench to nail a season-high 21 kills in 42 attempts for a .381 hitting percentage.  He also added a season-high13 digs to mark his first double-double of the year.  In the five-set victory, Riley played in four to average 5.25 kills and 3.25 kills per set.  Long Beach State will go on to play UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals of the MPSF Tournament this weekend. This marks the 22nd time a player from Long Beach State has won the AVCA Player of the Week, but it's the first for Riley.  The last 49er to win the honor was Antwain Aguillard the week of January 31st of this year.  The 49ers are coached by Andy Read.
