Ellis Walsh, a 6-6 middle blocker for Nazareth College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week.  Walsh led the Golden Flyers to a perfect 4-0 record for the week and a first place finish in the Vassar Invitational hosted by Vassar College.  In Nazareth's only match against a ranked team in the tournament, No. 13 Medaille, Walsh had his best game nailing 18 kills with just two errors for a .593 hitting percentage.  For the week, the Penfield, NY native tallied 42 kills and a .559 hitting percentage while adding 13 digs.  For his outstanding efforts, he was named to the all-tournament team after posting six kills in nine swings in the final match of the tournament against Johnson & Wales.  The win also extended the Golden Flyers' winning streak to six matches.  Walsh is among the Division III leaders this season in hitting percentage at .530 with 148 kills against 25 hitting errors in 232 attack attempts.  This marks the ninth time a men's volleyball player from Nazareth College has been named an AVCA Player of the Week, and Walsh's first.  It's also the second consecutive week a Golden Flyer has taken home the award.  Nazareth is coached by Cal Wickens.
