Pablo Oliveira, a 6-4 outside hitter for Baruch College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. Oliveira helped guide the Bearcats to a 6-1 record with four of those matches coming against AVCA top-15 programs. This week, Baruch hosted the Baruch Invitational with 11 other schools, and the Bearcats finished in second place with a record of 4-1. For his efforts, Oliveira was named to the All-Tournament Team. His best match of the week came against No. 4 UC Santa Cruz when he record a double-double with 24 kills and 11 digs in the five-set win. For the week, the Brazilian native amassed 90 kills with a .343 hitting percentage while tacking on 58 digs and nine aces. This marks the second time a men's volleyball player from Baruch College has been named an AVCA Player of the Week, and Oliveira's first. The only other time the award was handed to the school was the week of March 2, 2008 when Danial Levent won it. The Bearcats are coached by Allison Stack.
