Pablo Oliveira, a 6-4 senior outside hitter for Baruch College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. Oliveira had a dominating week offensively to put the team on his back for three victories. In their first match against No.15 SUNY New Paltz, Oliveira had 20 kills and six digs in the four-set win while swinging at a .415 clip. In the second victory over Endicott, he recorded a double-double tallying 19 kills and 10 digs while also adding four blocks. However, his best match came in the third match of the week against No. 12 Emmanuel. In 60 attempts he nailed a career-high 40 kills for a .583 hitting percentage and added 12 digs for his second consecutive double-double. For the week, he averaged 6.58 kills per set, a .481 hitting percentage and 2.33 blocks per set. This is the third time a player from Baruch College has won the AVCA Player of the Week, and the second for Oliveira since he took home the award the week of February 28th of this year.
