Taylor Fauntleroy, a 6-4 sophomore outside hitter for NYU, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week.  Fauntleroy had a strong week offensively to play a key role in their two victories this week with one of them coming against No. 1 Springfield.  In their first match against DI Harvard, the sophomore had 14 kills and five digs in the four-set victory.   Fauntleroy then played a match to remember against the nationally ranked No. 1 Springfield Pride.  He set a career-high in kills with 27 on 55 attempts for a .345 hitting percentage while tallying 14 digs for a double-double.    For the week, he averaged 4.56 kills per set and a .310 hitting percentage.  This is the 18th time a player from NYU has won the AVCA Player of the Week, and the first for Fauntleroy.  Previously, the most recent award recipient was Jonathan Wintermeyer, who won it the week of March 17, 2008.  The Violets are coached by Jose Pina.
