Molly Kreklow, a sophomore setter for The University of Missouri, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. She earned the award after leading the Tigers to four victories without dropping a single set while being named the Tiger Invitational MVP. Kreklow opened the season with 31 assists against Binghamton to lead her team to a .438 hitting percentage. She stepped up her game in the second match, dishing out 42 assists while also adding three kills and four digs against Idaho State. In their next two victories over Tulane and North Dakota State, the Minnesota native accumulated 76 more assists to give her a Big-12 leading 12.42 assists per set and 149 total assists. Her setting helped the Tigers hit a conference best .415 over the weekend as she distributed the ball to five different attackers who finished with at least 18 kills in the four matches. This marks the fifth player from The University of Missouri to win the honor, with this being the first time since Paolo Ampudia won it the week of November 9th of last year. The Tigers are coached by Wayne Kreklow.
