Kristy Jaeckel, a senior outside hitter for No. 13 University of Florida, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. She led the Gators to two SEC road sweeps, recording double-digit kills in both of them.  In their first match against Auburn, the Colorado native nailed 15 kills and hit an even .400.  In the following match at Georgia, she added 14 kills to her total, but hit an astounding .520, which was her highest of the season.  Jaeckel contributed to Florida's .720 hitting percentage in the second set, the highest single-set hitting percentage in program history.  For the week, the SEC Offensive Player of the Week averaged 4.83 kills, 6.08 points and 1.83 blocks per set.  She also recorded a season-high six blocks against the Bulldogs.   This honor marks the 11th time an athlete from the University of Florida has received the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award, with the latest coming just a couple of weeks ago when Kelly Murphy took home the honor.  The Gators are coached by Mary Wise.
