Ariel Turner, a junior outside hitter for then-No. 11 Purdue University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week, recording double-doubles in two wins last week.  In the Boilermakers first match against then-No. 22 Michigan, Turner had 25 kills hitting .333 while adding 18 digs in the five-set win.  She didn't slow down in the second match against Michigan State, this time nailing 28 kills for a .365 hitting percentage, and adding another 11 digs.  For the week, the Colorado native averaged 5.9 kills and 3.2 digs per set and hit a weekly average of .349.  This honor marks the second time an athlete from Purude has received the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award, with the first one coming the week of November 20, 2006 when Stephanie Lynch took home the honor.  The Boilermakers are coached by Dave Shondell.
