Saitaua Iosia, a freshman outside hitter for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week.  She helped lead the Hawks to two home wins and a current overall record of 19-6 and a perfect 10-0 in conference.  In their first match against Morgan State, Iosia recorded a double-double nailing 20 kills and hitting at a .567 clip while racking up 10 digs.  She was able to maintain that same high level of play against Coppin State, where she had another 18 kills with a .571 hitting percentage  Though she didn't record her second double-double of the week, she came close tallying seven digs.  For the week, she averaged 5.43 kills and 2.43 digs per set while hitting an astounding .569.  This honor marks the first time an athlete from the program has received the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award. The Hawks are coached by Don Metil.
