Ashley Leitner, a sophomore outside hitter for then-No. 5 University of Nebraska at Kearney, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week after leading her team to three victories while dropping just one set.  In their first sweep over New Mexico Highlands, Leitner had 13 kills in 26 attempts for a .462 hitting percentage while also picking up eight digs.  She improved her performance in the second match of the week when she recorded a career-high 19 kills and with her 10 digs, marked her first career double-double.  After racking up another 15 kills and seven digs in the victory over Adams State, the Nebraska native finished the week averaging 4.70 kills/set while hitting .482.  This marks the eighth time a Lopers athlete has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honors, the last coming November 16, 2010 when Jeri Walkowiak garnered the distinction. The Lopers are coached by Rick Squires.
