Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week

Danielle LaGrange, a senior middle blocker for the University of Southern Indiana, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week after leading her team to three victories last week, including a win over then-No. 21 Indianapolis.  In the Eagles first win of the week against McKendree, LaGrange nailed 18 kills without recording an error on 30 attempts for a .600 hitting percentage.  In the following match against St. Joseph's, the Indiana native collected 15 kills and in the process surpassed the 1,000th career kill plateau.  She didn't settle down after that, hammering an additional 16 kills while totaling six digs and eight blocks in their four-set win over Indianapolis.  It was the program's first win over the Greyhounds since 2005.     For the week she averaged 4.9 kills, 1.60 digs and 1.0 block per set while attacking at a .415 clip. This is the second time in program history an Eagle has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honors, with the most recent one coming from Laura Ellerbusch the week of September 26, 2005.  They are coached by Leah Mercer.
