Dana Hilzendager, a junior outside hitter for The University of Texas at Dallas, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after they went a perfect 3-0 last week, accumulating double-digit kills in each match. After racking up 14 kills (.481 hitting percentage) and seven digs in the first win over Mary Hardin Baylor, Hilzendager hit .647 with 12 kills and nine digs against Mississippi College. The Texas native finished off the week posting a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs against Centenary. For the week, she averaged four kills and 3.22 digs per set while hitting a robust .441. This is the third time an athlete from UT-Dallas has won the honor, and the second for Hilzendager. She last garnered the award the week of November 2nd of last year. The Comets are coached by Marci Sanders.
