Jessica Fleming, a senior middle blocker for Austin College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week after they went a perfect 4-0 last week, accumulating double-digit kills in each match. Her best match of the week came against Clarkson, accumulating 19 kills and nine blocks and went on to hit an astounding .533. They went on to sweep the Southwestern Invitational with wins over Concordia-Texas, Texlas Wesleyan and East Texas Baptist and Fleming was a key member why. In her four total matches played, she averaged 4.93 kills and 2.07 blocks per set while hitting .429 for the week. This is the third time an athlete from Austin College has won the honor, with the most recent coming the week of October 15, 2007 when Morgan Ballard garnered the award. The Kangaroos are coached by Ed Garza.
