Shawn Sangrey, a 6-5 senior opposite for No. 9 Ohio State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week.  Sangrey led the Buckeyes to split a pair of five-setters coming from behind to beat St. Francis then falling to No. 6 Penn State.  Against the Red Flash, the Pennsylvania native posted a career-high in kills with 33, which was the most for any player in the MIVA this season.  He saved his best play for the deciding set, nailing nine kills on 13 attacks for a .528 hitting percentage.  The senior also added four block assists along with two digs.  Sangrey continued his strong play against the Nittany Lions with another 24 kills, but added12 digs for his third double-double this season.  For the week, he averaged 5.7 kills and 1.4 digs per set while hitting .314.  His 4.91 kills per set average in all matches this season leads all attackers nationally.  This is the 14th time an OSU men's volleyball player has been named a Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, with the most recent coming the week of May 9, 2011 when Steven Kehoe garnered the award. The Buckeyes are coached by Pete Hanson.
