Rob Kraft, a 6-7 junior middle blocker for No. 7 Nazareth College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. Kraft was instrumental in the Golden Flyers' quest to the UVC Championship this past weekend, being named the Most Valuable Player and earning an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. In their first match against No. 8 Vassar, Kraft hit .429 with four kills, three aces and nine total blocks. He picked up his offensive game in the following two matches, nailing 14 kills (.458%) against Penn State Behrend and 13 kills (.400%) in the hard-fought five-set win over No. 5 Stevens. He also added another three aces in those matches to give him a total of nine for the weekend. This is the 11th time a Nazareth men's volleyball player has been named a Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, with the most recent coming the week of April 4, 2011 when Billy Gimello took home the honor. The Golden Flyers are coached by Cal Wickens.
