DIII No. 9 Ramapo Defeats DI East Stroudsburg

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Ramapo College men's volleyball team knocked off the Warriors of Division II East Stroudsburg today in a non-conference match-up in East Stroudsburg, PA. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 27-5 overall.

Today was the Roadrunners final regular season match heading into next weekend's NECVA Championship Tournament held at Ramapo on April 4th, 5th and 6th. Ramapo awaits news on Monday's release of the championship bracket after a 3-0 victory over SUNY New Paltz on March 25th locked in a tournament appearance for the team.

Junior middle blocker TC Elsasser (Barnegat, NJ) recorded 14 kills with eight total blocks leading the team to its 27th win of the year. Elsasser hit .481 on the day while senior opposite Brendan Whitford (Lyndhurst, NJ) matched his hitting at .481 putting down 16 kills on 27 attempts. Shane Donohue (Freehold, NJ) led the Roadrunners' offensive attack in the five-game set with 17 kills.

Dan Sempkowski (East Brunswick, NJ) dug a team leading 13 balls and Donohue added seven while junior setter Jairo Sierra (Fair Lawn, NJ) dished out 59 assists. Juniors Tom Kohler (East Brunswick, NJ) and Dave Ross (Perth Amboy, NJ) added 14 and eight kills respectively.

The team combined for 70 kills on 132 attempts with only 14 errors hitting .424 in the win.
