2000 AVCA Division II All-America Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO - The American Volleyball Coaches Association will present the 20th annual All-America awards Nov. 29, 2000, at the NCAA Division II Women's Elite Eight Tournament banquet in Sioux Falls, S.D.  Augustana College hosts the 2000 Elite Eight on Nov. 30, and Dec. 1-2.

Kari Peterson of Augustana College was selected the AVCA Division II National Player of the Year.  Hawai'i Pacific placed three members on the first team. North Central Conference teams Augustana, South Dakota State and Nebraska-Omaha each placed two student-athletes on the first team.

The selections were made by the AVCA Division II All-America Committee: Chris Catanach, Tampa, chair; Kim Cherniss, Cal State, San Bernardino; Laurie Lokash, Slippery Rock; Peggy Martin, Central Missouri State; Robin Salters, New Haven; Deanne Scanlon, Grand Valley State; Rose Shires, Nebraska-Omaha; and Tom Shoji, Southern Colorado.
