Asia Kaczor, a senior right side/opposite from then-No. 6 Southern California, has been named this week's Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week for helping lead her team to wins over two nationally-ranked opponents last week, then-No. 9 California and then-No. 3 Stanford. In Southern Cal's 3-2 win over the Golden Bears, Kaczor scored a double-double with 24 kills and 17 digs, while also adding five total blocks and one ace in the win. She followed that up with another double-double, tallying a career-high 28 kills, hitting at a .328 clip, and adding 13 digs in the Women of Troy's 3-1 upset of Stanford. She also had three aces and one block in the match. For the week, Kaczor hit .277, while averaging 5.78 kills, 3.33 digs and .67 blocks per game. This is the fifth time a player from Southern Cal has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award, and the first since Keao Burdine on November 17, 2003. USC is coached by Mick Haley.
