Erin Boeve, a junior middle blocker from Iowa State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. Boeve led her team to two big road conference wins this past week over rivals Kansas State and Kansas. In a five-game Cyclone win over K-State, Boeve posted a double-double with 22 kills and 12 blocks; her hitting percentage was .375 for the match. Later in the week in a sweep of the Jayhawks, she put away another 17 kills, while adding a career-high seven digs and four more blocks. For the week, Boeve averaged 4.88 kills per game and an impressive 2.0 blocks per game; she hit a notable .352 and compiled 48.5 points. Boeve is the first Iowa State player to win the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week honor. The Cyclone Head Coach is Christy Johnson. |
