Sanja Tomasevic, a 6-1 senior outside hitter for second-ranked University of Washington (14-0, 5-0 Pac-10), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week after leading the Huskies to two road victories against ranked opponents. She averaged 6.06 points, 5.00 kills, 1.44 blocks, 3.22 digs and 0.33 aces per game as Washington defeated 13th-ranked California and third-ranked Stanford. Tomasevic missed out on a triple-double in a five-game win at California with 25 kills, 18 digs and nine blocks while hitting .323. She attacked at a .333 percentage with 20 kills, 11 digs, four blocks and two aces in a four-game win at Stanford. Tomasevic improved her season averages to 5.21 points, 4.23 kills, 1.28 blocks, 2.4 digs and 0.33 aces per game. Tomasevic also earned the award on Sept. 2, 2003, and is the third different Husky to be honored. The Washington head coach is Jim McLaughlin.
