Nicole Wilson, a 6-3 junior middle blocker for seventh-ranked University of Missouri (10-0, 4-0 Big 12), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to league wins at Colorado and at home versus then-17th-ranked Kansas State. She averaged 5.25 points, 3.83 kills and 2.83 blocks per game while hitting .719 on 32 swings. Wilson hit .632 with 12 kills, eight block assists and two digs in a sweep of Colorado on Sept. 21. She provided the undefeated Tigers with an .846 attack percentage in a three-game win over Kansas State with 11 kills, nine block assists and two digs. Wilson increased her season attack percentage to .439, while her season averages rocketed to 4.55 points, 3.43 kills and 1.63 blocks per game. Wilson is the second Tiger to receive the honor as Mary Lauren Smith earned it on Sept. 30, 2002. The Missouri head coach is Wayne Kreklow.
