Ogonna Nnamani, a 6-1 senior outside hitter for 12th-ranked Stanford University (7-2, 0-0 Pacific 10), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week for leading the Cardinal to victories over Western Kentucky, Villanova and Northwestern. She averaged 6.20 kills, 1.20 digs and 1.00 blocks per game while hitting .533 on 107 attacks. Nnamani scored 28.5 points with 21 kills, three aces and five blocks (four solo) with a .556 attack percentage versus Western Kentucky. She charted 23 kills and five blocks with a .500 hitting percentage against Villanova. She completed the weekend with 18 kills on a .548 attack percentage against host Northwestern en route to being named most valuable player of the Wildcat Classic. Nnamani averages 5.20 kills, 2.00 digs and 0.71 blocks per game on the season with a .349 attack percentage. A Stanford player has earned the national award eight times.
