Stacey Gordon, a 5-11 senior outside hitter for The Ohio State University (6-0, 0-0 Big Ten), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week for leading the Buckeyes to two victories last weekend. Gordon averaged 9.8 kills, 2.3 digs, 0.8 blocks and 10.4 points per game while hitting .480 on 98 attacks. She totaled 26 kills on a .561 attack percentage with four blocks and five digs versus Xavier. Gordon hit .421 with 33 kills, nine digs and a block versus then-21st-ranked Georgia Tech. She was named the most valuable player of the Georgia Tech Invitational as Ohio State stopped the host school's 26-match home win streak. Gordon, who ended the weekend with 2,100-career kills, charted 11 or more kills in three of the six games played last week. She also earned the national player of the week on Nov. 5, 2001, as the Buckeyes have garnered the award six times. The Ohio State head coach is Jim Stone.
