Keao Burdine, a 6-1 junior outside hitter for top-ranked University of Southern California (26-0, 17-0 Pac-10), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. Burdine led the undefeated Women of Troy to victories over seventh-ranked Stanford and ninth-ranked California. She averaged 7.14 points, 5.71 kills, 3.86 digs and 0.43 blocks per game. Burdine, who hits .294 on the season, connected for a .544 hitting percentage on the week. She started the week with a .649 hitting percentage against Stanford with 24 kills on 37 errorless attacks, 18 digs and three blocks. Burdine contributed 16 kills, nine digs and 18 total points versus California while hitting .419 on 31 swings. She increased her season averages to 3.45 kills, 2.85 digs and 4.00 points per game. The Women of Troy claimed the Pac-10 title and only a match with UCLA on Nov. 21 stands in their way of an undefeated league record. The University of Southern California head coach is Mick Haley.
