Sanja Tomasevic, a 6-1 junior outside hitter for 23rd-ranked University of Washington (3-0), has been chosen the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. Tomasevic helped the Huskies to sweeps of three opponents, en route to the MVP and team titles at the Badger Invitational. She registered 18 kills in each of the three matches, averaging 6.00 for the tournament. She posted averages of 8.22 points per game, 1.78 digs, 1.22 blocks and 1.00 service aces on the weekend, as well as a .485 hitting percentage (54-7-97). Tomasevic completed a double-double with 10 digs against New Hampshire, adding a .720 attack effort on 18 kills and zero errors on 25 attempts. She tallied a career-high five aces versus UMKC and six blocks over host and then-17th-ranked Wisconsin. Tomasevic was selected as the Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week, as well. The University of Washington head coach is Jim McLaughlin.
