NCCAA Division I All-America | NCCAA Division II All-America
LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 3, 2012) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is pleased to announce its fourth annual National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I Women's Volleyball All-America Team.
In cooperation with its relationship with the NCCAA, the AVCA will award an All-America Team for both NCCAA Divisions I and II, as well as a National Coach of the Year, National Assistant Coach of the Year and National Player of the Year. NCCAA coaches are also eligible to receive the AVCA Team Academic Award and AVCA Victory Club awards.
This year's team honors 14 student-athletes: eight seniors, four juniors and two sophomores. Five of the lauded individuals are outside hitters, while four setters, three middle blockers and two opposites also earned distinction. In addition, four student-athletes are making their second-consecutive appearance as an AVCA NCCAA Division I All-America selection. Mariela Quesada from Palm Beach Atlantic University has now been on the team for the third consecutive year.
