Hall of Fame - Debbie Green

Green, a two-time U.S. Olympic Volleyball team member, is in her 19th year as an assistant coach for Long Beach State University volleyball. She was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1995 and became the fifth woman inducted into the University of Southern California Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Green became the first woman to enter the Orange County Sports Hall of Fame on April 30, 1998.

Green was a member of the U.S. Olympic Volleyball team that won the silver medal at the 1984 games in Los Angeles. She also participated in three World Championships and two Pan American games where she won a silver medal in 1983. Green played for the Los Angeles Starlites of Major League Volleyball (MLV), a women's professional indoor league, and helped the squad earn the league's first two championships in 1987 and 1988.

She has mentored six AVCA All-America setters, including Misty May in 1997 and 1998. May was selected as the AVCA Player of the Year both seasons and became the first student-athlete to win the honor back-to-back.

At Westminster High, Green was on the Adidas Junior Team and was named an All-American at age 16, becoming the youngest player to receive the honor.
