Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year

2010 AVCA Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year - Charles Rodman , Washington University in St. Louis

 

LEXINGTON, Ky. (November 23, 2010) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce that Washington University in St. Louis assistant women's volleyball coach Charles Rodman has been named the organization's AVCA Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year.

Rodman has been with the Washington-St. Louis volleyball program since 2005 and has most recently taken on the role of training the squad's defensive specialists and liberos. As a result of his efforts, the Bears' own libero, sophomore Kelly Pang, has twice been selected an AVCA Division III First-Team All-American and was the 2009 AVCA Division III Freshman of the Year. In Rodman's time with the program, Wash U. has captured two national titles (2007and 2009) and has remained a perennial power in the Division III volleyball world, ending the 2010 campaign with a 35-4 record and a No.3 ranking in the final AVCA Division III Coaches top 25 Poll of the season.

The AVCA will formally present Rodman with his award at the 2010 Jostens Coaches Honors Luncheon in Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday, December 16.  The luncheon is held in conjunction with the 2010 AVCA Annual Convention.
