Alistair Matthews, a 6-3 junior right side for No. 3 Springfield College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. He saw more playing time against No. 4 Juniata later that day, blasting 23 kills and hitting .326 in the highly contested five-set victory. The New Jersey native didn't let his guard down against No. 14 Baruch, racking up another 13 kills while hitting an astounding .579. Springfield finished the regular season 15-0 at home and has won 19 of its last 20, including nine in a row. He finished the week with 40 kills (4.0 per set) and a .397 attack percentage.
