Bez Arslani, a 6-1 junior outside hitter for Kean, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. The Skyline Player of the Week had a tremendous weekend leading his Cougars to what might have been the best single day in program history by knocking off No. 2 Rivier and No. 5 Nazareth in the Baruch Invitational. In their first match of the day against the Golden Flyers, he tallied a team-high 12 kills and four digs while hitting at a .381 clip in the sweep.  He didn't let up in the second match of the day against the Raiders, smashing 27 kills on a school record .676 hitting in the hard-fought five-set victory. Those 27 kills were just one shy of the best in school history. The two matches were the only ones played last week as Kean, currently receiving votes, expects to crack the top-15 of today's AVCA Coaches Poll.

This is the second  time in program history a Kean student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors, with the other coming from Ed Jedziniak on March 5th of last year. The Cougars are coached by Charlie Ginex.
