Biljana Savic, a junior outside hitter/setter for the University of Bridgeport, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She was incredible in the Purple Knights' three sweeps using her strong all-around play to lead the squad to a 10-1 record in the East Coast Conference. After she nailed 11 kills, hit .450, notched 17 assists and seven digs in the win over Dowling, the Serbia native had a record-breaking two matches. On Halloween against American International, she collected a triple-double with 10 kills (.412 hitting), 16 assists and 11 digs while setting her team to an astounding .456 hitting percentage. Two days later hosting Robert Wesleyan, she had her best match of the week with 13 kills, 21 assists and 10 digs while attacking at a .545 clip, becoming the first player in program history to record consecutive triple-doubles. For the week, she averaged 3.78 kills, 6.00 assists, 3.11 digs and 0.56 blocks per set to go along with her .475 hitting percentage.
