Breanah Bourque, a senior middle blocker for No. 6 Emory University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week. She helped Emory to a perfect 5-0 record last week leading the team in kills in each match, including two over nationally ranked teams. She never had a match recording fewer than 14 kills while being named the MVP of the Juniata Wid Guisler Invitational. After recording 17 kills hitting .483 against Point Park, Bourque smashed another 16 kills in their win over No. 21 Juniata. She didn't back down in the following match over No. 23 Eastern, where she upped her hitting percentage to an astounding .630 on 18 kills. The Texas native then saved her best match for last against Heidelberg, hitting a week-high 22 kills with a .556 attack percentage. This is the seventh time an athlete from Emory has earned the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week award, with the most recent coming from Amelia McCall on October 26, 2010. The Eagles are coached by Jenny McDowell.
