Courtney Earles, a senior middle hitter for No. 2 Hope College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week.  It was Earles' play that helped lead the second-ranked Flying Dutch over previously undefeated and No. 1 Calvin in a five-set thriller.  Against the Knights, Earles nailed 12 kills on .440 hitting   to go along with her two digs and three blocks.  In the fourth set with Hope trailing 21-20, it was Earles who sparked the 4-0 run with a kill.  They hit the road the next day and took care of Saint Mary's in straight sets, with the MIAA Player of the Week tallying nine kills, three blocks and hit an astounding .818.  This is the third time a student-athlete from Hope has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week, with the most recent coming from Jenna Grasmeyer on October 16, 2012.  The Flying Dutch are coached by Becky Schmidt.
