DJ White, a 6-5 sophomore outside hitter for No. 15 Harvard University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week. White led Harvard to a record-setting week that saw them defeat EIVA rival Penn State for the first time in program history in addition to the sweep of St. Francis (Pa.). Helping the Crimson end the Nittany Lions' 51-match EIVA winning streak, White smashed a match-high 13 kills with an even .500 hitting percentage to go along with his five digs. He followed that up with another match-high 12 kills, a .455 hitting percentage and six digs against the Red Flash to improve to 3-0 at home this season. Dating back to last season, Harvard has won seven consecutive matches at the Malkin Athletic Center. For the week, the California native averaged 4.17 kills, 1.83 digs and 4.33 points per set while hitting at a .477 clip. This honor marks the first ever Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week in program history. Harvard is coached by Brian Baise.
