Holly Hafemeyer, a senior middle blocker for Augustana College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. Hafemeyer hit a career-high 24 kills in both of Augustana's victories last week over MSU Moorhead and then-No. 20 Northern State. Against the Vikings, in addition to her two aces, three digs and three blocks, she was incredibly efficient hitting at a .408 clip. She played even better in their win over the Wolves, hitting an astounding .524 with another four digs, four blocks and just two errors. Her 26.5 points she accrued in that match were the most in a three-set match in program history. Last week, the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week averaged six kills, 0.88 blocks, 0.88 digs and 6.75 points per set while hitting a robust .462. This is the fifth time a student-athlete from Augustana has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, with the most recent coming from Angie Hummel on October 6, 2003. The Vikings are coached by Ashley Buckley.
