Inky Ajanaku, a sophomore middle blocker for No. 3 Stanford University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. As one of the top middles in the Pac-12, Ajanaku proved she is to be feared in the NCAA Tournament after last week's performances against conference foes Arizona and California. In the sweep of the Wildcats, the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week smashed a season-high 15 kills on .565 hitting, and also led the team with seven blocks. Heading home to play the Golden Bears two days later, Ajanaku once again nailed 15 kills while hitting .417 with another three blocks. For the week, the sophomore averaged 4.29 kills, 1.43 blocks and 5.21 points per set and hit a robust .489. This is the 16th time a student-athlete from Stanford University has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week, with the most recent coming from Rachel Williams who took home the honor last week. The Cardinal is coached by John Dunning.
