Dejno had a big week leading the Anteaters to three victories over ranked opponents while capturing the UC Santa Barbara Invitational Championship. After defeating then-No. 15 Cal Baptist and then-No. 7 Long Beach State by racking up a combined 15 kills, he saved his best match of the weekend for the championship match. Against then-No. 6 UCLA, the Wisconsin native smashed 13 kills while hitting .481 and adding another seven digs. He also had a great passing match, not committing a single passing error in 25 attempts against the Bruins, finishing the weekend with a .935 passing percentage. This is the 21st time in program history a UC Irvine player has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors, with the most recent coming from Kevin Tillie on April 24th of last year. The Anteaters are coached by David Kniffin.
