Jon Storm, a 6-5 sophomore outside hitter for No. 2 Carthage College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week. Storm helped lead the Red Men to a perfect 3-0 record last week at the Thiel College Tournament, with all of them being sweeps of their opponents. In their first of three matches over the weekend, Storm blasted Thiel to the tune of 13 kills and a .545 hitting percentage, adding another four digs. In the Red Men's doubleheader the next day against Penn State Altoona and Eastern Mennonite, the Illinois native finished with a combined 19 kills, hitting .600 and .611, respectively. For the weekend, Storm averaged 3.55 kills and 1.22 digs per set with a .580 hitting percentage. Carthage heads back to Thiel next weekend to play in the CVC East/West Crossover Tournament. This is the ninth time in program history a Carthage player has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors, with the most recent coming March 20th of last year when Randy Hansen took home the honor. The Red Men are coached by L.J. Marx.
