Kate Lange, a junior outside hitter for No. 3 University of Minnesota Duluth, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week.  She had a huge week helping the Bulldogs to a pair of conference victories to conclude a seven-match home stand.  In their first match against Northern State, Lange smashed 21 kills hitting .349 with eight digs in the sweep.  Their second match pitted them against then-No. 22 in-state rivals Minnesota State-Moorhead, but Lange was up to the challenge.  The 6-1 outside hitter nailed 29 kills and recorded another nine digs to give UMD a perfect 11-0 record on the season.  Lange leads the NSIC in kills (197) and kills per set (5.18), with the next closest opponent averaging 4.03 kills per set. This marks the ninth time a Bulldog has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honors, the last coming back on November 5, 2007 when Danielle Beckstrand took home the honor.  Minnesota Duluth is coached by Jim Boos.
