Kate Lange, a senior outside hitter for No. 2 University of Minnesota Duluth, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. The two-time First-Team AVCA All-American wasted no time to remind Division II how dominant of a player she is, notching at least 23 kills in three of the four matches played, all of them victories. The then-No. 4 Bulldogs opened their season against then-No. 18 Wheeling Jesuit, nailing 28 kills on .442 hitting while also recording 13 digs in the hard fought five-set victory. She continued her dominance against then-No. 19 West Florida tallying another 31 kills before accumulating a combined 34 kills in the following two matches over Southern Indiana and Missouri S&T. This is the 10th time a student-athlete from Minnesota-Duluth has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week, with the most recent coming from Lange on September 18th of last year, making this her second player of the week award. The Bulldogs are coached by Jim Boos.
