Kate Lange, a senior outside hitter for No. 2 University of Minnesota Duluth, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. The two-time AVCA All-American entered the season as one of the top players in the game, and once again she proved that to be true. After a 12-kill, 11-dig, two-block performance in the sweep over Minnesota State, she followed that up with one of the best performances of her career against then-No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul. In five sets against one of the top defensive teams in the country, she nailed 31 kills on .379 hitting and registered another double-double adding 13 digs. The NSIC Offensive Player of the Week averaged 5.38 kills and three digs per set with a .357 hitting percentage to lead her team to an active nine-match winning streak. This is the 11th time a student-athlete from Minnesota-Duluth has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, and the third all-time for Lange. She has previously won the award on September 18, 2012 and earlier this year on September 10th. The Bulldogs are coached by Jim Boos.
