Kristina Kerrigan, a senior outside hitter for No. 9 University of Indianapolis, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She had an absolutely dominant week leading the Greyhounds to a perfect 3-0 and increase the team's winning streak to eight. She began the week with 17 kills hitting .353 with six digs against Saint Joseph's, but she really turned it on for the next two matches. In the wins over McKendree and Bellarmine, Kerrigan accumulated 42 kills, 21 digs and nine blocks, including a .417 attack percentage against the latter. For the week, she averaged 5.90 kills and 6.60 points per set hitting at a .341 clip, and also became just the second player in school history to surpass 1,500 career kills. Nationally, the senior ranks second in kills (5.12) and third in points per set (5.49). This marks the first time a player from Indianapolis has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honors. The Greyhounds are coached by Jody Rogers.
