Megan Plourde, a senior middle blocker for Colorado State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. She is coming off a huge week that saw her Rams knock off then-No. 12 Pepperdine en route to a perfect 3-0 record winning the Rams Volleyball Classic. In their first match of the week against the Waves, Plourde nailed 10 kills on 19 attempts for a team-best .421 hitting percentage in the sweep. She only played better as the tournament went on, hitting .429 with 15 kills and nine blocks in their victory over Florida International University. The Wisconsin native finished the week with her strongest performance against New Mexico State, with 13 blocks and as many kills, except this time hitting at an even .500 clip. For the week, Plourde hit an astounding .449 with 3.45 kills and 2.18 blocks per set. This honor marks the fifth player from Colorado State to receive the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week award, with the most recent coming the week of September 4, 2007 when Mekana Barnes garnered the award. The Rams are coached by Tom Hilbert.
