E.J. Wells-Spicer, a 5-11 senior setter for No. 2 Nazareth College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III National Player of the Week.  He was named MVP of the United Volleyball Conference Tournament as Nazareth claimed the championship for the third consecutive year, and will match up with No. 3 UC Santa Cruz in the NCAA Tournament.  In three matches this weekend, the UVC Player of the Year recorded assist totals of 50, 44 and 39 in a total of 10 sets played with victories over Penn State-Behrend, No. 11 Vassar and No. 6 Stevens in the championship match.  Against the Brewers, he helped set his team to an astounding .500 team hitting percentage.  This is the 13th time a Nazareth player has been named a Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, with this being the New York native's fourth career honor.  The Golden Flyers are coached by Cal Wickens.
