Assistant Coach, University of Miami
Coral Gables, FL
NCAA Division I
Laura Kuhn has been an assistant women's volleyball coach at the NCAA Division I level for three seasons, as she most recently completed her second year as an assistant at the University of Miami. In 2009, the Hurricanes finished with an 18-13 overall record, tied for fifth-place in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and earned a berth in the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament.
In Kuhn's first season in Coral Gables, she helped mentor a squad that ended the year with a 26-6 record, the best single-season record in program history, and a fourth-place tie in the ACC standings. Just one season prior, Kuhn helped the Appalachian State University volleyball program to a 19-14 record and second-place Southern Conference finish in her one season as an assistant with team.
Kuhn credits her experiences as a four-year student-athlete at Georgia Tech as paving the way into the coaching profession. "I hope to create a positive foundation for my athletes to develop both as players and as people, whether I'm an assistant or head coach," said Kuhn. "My aim is to guide young student-athletes to be successful in whatever they strive to do."
