2001 AVCA Division
III National and Region Ranked Teams List
October 24, 2001
TO: AVCA Division III Member Head Coaches
FR: Jenifer Scheibler, AVCA assistant
director of communications
RE: Nationally and regionally
ranked teams for post-season award nominations
Included with this letter is the exclusive
list of regional and national ranked teams to be used for the compilation
of statistics for your nominees for AVCA All-Region and All-America awards.
For AVCA All-Region and All-America Awards
purposes, a regional-ranked team is defined as any institution included
in any regional ranking during the 2001 ranking period. A nationally ranked
team is defined as any team ranked in the 2001 AVCA Division III Coaches
Top 20 Poll for any three weeks, excluding the preseason poll.
Please refer to the 2001 AVCA Division
III Awards Packet and the Postseason Nomination Form and Procedures when
you compile the statistics for your players. When you complete the
"Individual Season Totals" for your players (bottom of page 9 in the awards
packet), you should only use the teams that are listed on the following
page (except for item 1 listed below). You must submit each player’s
statistics against:
1) All teams on your schedule;
2) regionally ranked teams only (from
all regions, not just your own); and,
3) nationally ranked teams only.
**Use only the teams listed on the following
page when calculating statistics against regionally and nationally ranked
teams; do not add teams as new polls and/or rankings are released.
If you do not have a 2001 AVCA Awards Packet
you may obtain one from the forms and packets section of AVCA Online (http://www.avca.org)
in PDF format.
Please remember that all post-season nomination
forms must be filled out completely and must reach the AVCA office no later
than noon Tuesday, November 6, 2001. It is strongly recommended that
material be sent via overnight mail service (morning delivery) to the AVCA
office in order to allow your package to be tracked. No faxed or late entries
will be accepted; AVCA staff will not pick up nomination materials from
the airport or any other location. Those packages not meeting the November
6 noon deadline will be disqualified.
**Use only the teams listed on the following
page when calculating statistics against regionally and nationally ranked
teams; do not add teams as new polls and/or rankings are released.
