AVCA First-Team All-Americans
Nicole Bayle, a 5-10 setter for Grand Valley State University, is a senior from Fruitport, Michigan. Bayle, a back-to-back AVCA First-Team All-America selection, has led the Lakers to the Elite Eight for the fourth straight year. Bayle averaged 10.34 assists, 2.31 digs and 0.67 blocks per game in 2003 en route to being named AVCA All-Great Lakes Region for the third time.

Jenny Gronner-Roisum, a 5-11 middle blocker for North Dakota State University, is a senior from Underwood, Minnesota. Gronner-Roisum contributed 3.54 kills, 1.22 digs and 1.38 blocks per game to the Bison totals in 2003. She helped lead North Dakota State to the North Central Region finals and a 25-9 overall record. Gronner-Roisum has 1,099-career kills and ranks fifth at the school in all-time blocks.

Devon Herron, a 5-9 setter for Metro State College, is a senior from Spokane, Washington. Herron, a two-time AVCA All-American, paced Metro State to the top seed in the Southwest Regional. She averaged 14.22 assists per game for second best in Division II. Herron, the RMAC Player of the Year, guided the Roadrunners to a .263 team attack percentage.

Linnea Kiilsgaard, a 5-7 setter for the University of Northern Colorado, is a senior from Auburn, Washington. Kiilsgaard, a two-time AVCA All-American, averaged 13.75 assists per game for fifth best in Division II. She set the Bears to a .285 team attack percentage for 10th best in Division II. Kiilsgaard completed her career with 5,329 assists and joined the 1,000-dig club this season.

Kristin Koralewski, a 5-8 outside hitter for Northern Kentucky University, is a junior from Muskego, Wisconsin. Koralewski was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2003. She recorded 26 double-doubles this season with a team-leading 580 kills and 487 digs. Koralewski, who helped the Norse to the Great Lakes Region finals, also hit .328 on the season.

Chun Yi Lin, a 6-1 middle blocker for Brigham Young University-Hawaii, is a sophomore from Pingtune, Taiwan. Lin, a two-time AVCA All-American and last year's AVCA National Player of the Year, hit .465 in 2003 while averaging 4.43 kills, 1.16 blocks and 5.44 points per game. She ranked third nationally in hitting percentage. Lin hit .789 against Chaminade to set a school record.

Kim Morohunfola, a 5-11 middle blocker for Cal State University San Bernardino, is a senior from Upland, California. Morohunfola becomes a four-time AVCA All-America selection, an accomplishment achieved by only four other NCAA Division II players. She averages 3.95 kills and 1.05 blocks per game. Morohunfola ranks first on the Coyote all-time block assist chart with 396 while posting the third most career kills in school history.

Gretchen Naruta, a 5-7 setter for the University of Tampa, is a senior from Winter Springs, Florida. Naruta, a two-time AVCA All-American, ranks ninth in Division II for assists per game with 13.59. She has led the Spartans to a .330 team attack percentage, which tops all Division II teams. Naruta also contributes 1.78 digs and 0.25 aces per game in 2003.

Yana Ninova, a 5-11 outside hitter for the University of North Alabama, is a senior from Viden, Bulgaria. Ninova ranks second inNCAA Division II in kill average with 6.07 per game and ninth in hitting with a .409 attack percentage. She adds 1.96 digs, 0.65 blocks and 0.22 aces per game. Ninova was named All-Gulf South Conference First Team for the fourth straight year.

Teresa Ohta, a 5-6 setter for UC San Diego, is a junior from Cypress, California. Ohta, a three-time AVCA All-Pacific Region pick, ranked 15th nationally in assist average with 12.93 per game. She paced the Tritons to a .272 team attack percentage, which ranks 21st in Division II. Ohta added 0.81 kills and 2.88 digs per game in 2003.

Ania Ruiz, a 5-11 outside hitter for the University of Tampa, is a senior from Arroyo, Puerto Rico. Ruiz becomes one of five players to receive AVCA All-America all four years and just the 13th player named first-team three times. She averages 4.44 kills per game and attacks at a .336 clip. Ruiz adds 2.73 digs and 0.65 blocks per game as the Spartans return to the Elite Eight.

Jessica Shepler, a 5-11 outside hitter for Rockhurst University, is a senior from Kansas City, Kansas. Shepler ranked eighth in the NCAA for kills per game at 4.93 while hitting at a .304 clip. She added 3.50 digs and 0.75 blocks per game. Jessica led her team to the Southwest Region championship match in 2003. Shepler finished her four-year career with 2,301 kills.

AVCA Second-Team All-America
Liz Bishop, a 5-9 setter for Western Washington University, is a senior from Seattle, Washington. Bishop, a two-time AVCA All-American, was voted the GNAC Player of the Year for the second straight year. She ranked 10th nationally in assist average with 13.54 per game and added 2.88 digs per game. Bishop finished her Viking career with the second most career assists with 4,176.

Anna Bondarenko, a 6-1 middle blocker for Queens College in New York, is a junior from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Bondarenko, a two-time AVCA Second-Team All-America selection, led the NCAA Division II in hitting with a .478 hitting percentage in 2003. She produced 5.65 kills per game, which ranks fourth according to the latest NCAA rankings. Bondarenko added 1.10 blocks and 3.06 digs per game.

Flavia Brakling, a 6-0 outside hitter for Hawaii Pacific University, is a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Brakling averaged 4.17 kills and 2.43 digs per game leading the Sea Warriors to the Pacific Region finals. She tallied 33 kills versus Western New Mexico and averages nearly five points per game against national-ranked teams. Brakling tallied 12 double-doubles in 2003.

Erin Gudmundson, a 5-11 middle blocker for the University of Nebraska at Kearney, is a sophomore from Kearney, Nebraska. Gudmundson leads the Lopers in kills with 4.50 per game and hitting with a .338 percentage. With 571 kills in 2003, she is on pace to break school records for kills in a season and kill average. Gudmundson was honored as the Oct. 13 Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week.

Tia Lindberg, a 5-11 right side/opposite hitter for Concordia University - St. Paul, is a junior from Stacy, Minnesota. Lindberg helped the Golden Bears to their first Elite Eight Tournament berth with 3.12 kills, 1.08 blocks and 0.35 aces per game. She recorded 16 matches with double-figure kills, including all six matches against national-ranked teams. Lindberg has 1,055-career kills in her third season.

Valerie Martinez, a 5-9 setter for the University of North Florida, is a junior from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Martinez ranked 13th nationally in assists per game with 13.15, leading the Ospreys to the South Region semifinals. She paced the team to a .309 team attack percentage, which ranked fourth in Division II. Martinez added 1.99 digs and 0.58 blocks per game on defense.

Carrie Potthast, a 5-10 outside hitter for Central Missouri State University, is a senior from Saint Rose, Illinois. Potthast, a three-time AVCA All-Region pick, helped the Jennies to the South Central Region finals as she averaged 4.49 kills, 4.40 digs and 0.55 blocks per game. Carrie averaged nearly five points per game against nationally ranked teams. Potthast finished with 1,593-career kills.

Jessica Sears, a 5-10 outside hitter for Truman State University, is a junior from Colchester, Illinois. Sears led the MIAA in kills and points while ranking among the top 10 in attack percentage and digs. She averaged 4.62 kills and 4.18 digs per game, which rank second- and the fourth-best at the school, respectively. Sears finished her career with over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

Jessica Slayton, a 5-9 outside hitter for Cal State Bakersfield, is a senior from Bakersfield, California. Slayton averaged 4.11 kills, 0.62 aces and 3.06 digs per game in 2003. She set a CCAA record with 10 aces in a three-game match against Division I-bound UC Davis. Slayton became the only player in school history to rank in top five for career kills and aces.

Jackie Struck, a 6-0 middle blocker for the University of North Florida, is a junior from Spring, Texas. Struck, a three-time AVCA All-American, ranked fourth in Division II for hitting percentage with a mark of .465. She was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year for the second time. Struck added 4.40 kills, 0.59 aces and 1.13 blocks per game for the Ospreys.

Yu Chuan Weng, a 5-10 outside hitter for Brigham Young University-Hawaii, is a sophomore from Hsinchu, Taiwan. Weng, a two-time AVCA All-American, averaged 4.08 kills and 3.16 digs per game. She ranked seventh in the PacWest in hitting percentage, sixth in kills and eighth in digs. Weng averaged 5.02 points per game in 29 games against nationally ranked teams.

Callie Zwettler, a 5-7 outside hitter for the University of Minnesota Duluth, is a junior from Madison, Wisconsin. Zwettler, the NSIC Player of the Year, led the conference in kills with a 4.70 average and aces with a 0.67 average. She hit .243 on the season with a 3.31 digs per game average. Zwettler has recorded 1,209-career kills in just three season to rank sixth in school history.

AVCA Third-Team All-America
Erin Arnold, a 5-10 outside hitter for University of Nebraska at Kearney, is a junior from Casper, Wyoming. Arnold averaged 4.23 kills and a team-leading 3.75 digs per game for the Lopers in 2003. She ranks third in her conference for hitting percentage. Arnold became the eighth player in school history to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.

Sabrina Bird, a 5-11 middle blocker for Grand Valley State University, is a senior from Hopkins, Michigan. Bird has completed each of her four seasons with competition in the Elite Eight Tournament. She has produced a .354 hitting percentage with averages of 3.17 kills and 1.16 blocks. Bird was named the GLIAC Player of the Year for 2003.

Aimee Dewitte, a 6-0 middle blocker for Northern Michigan University, is a junior from St. Charles, Missouri. Dewitte led the Wildcats to the Great Lakes Region semifinals and an overall 26-1 record. She averaged 2.82 kills, 0.45 aces, 3.24 digs and 0.79 blocks per game as a versatile middle blocker. Dewitte, a primary passer, helped NMU to the yield the fewest aces in conference.

Fernanda Ferreira, a 5-11 middle blocker for Barry University, is a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ferrerira, a three-time AVCA All-American, led the Buccaneers to a 24-4 record in 2003, including a berth in the South Region finals. She averaged 3.13 kills, 2.19 digs and 0.86 blocks per game. Ferreira was part of an offense that ranked 14th nationally in attack percentage.

Erika Figueiredo, a 5-11 outside hitter for St. Edward's University, is a junior from Joao Pessoa, Brazil. Figueiredo, the Heartland Conference Player of the Year, ranked 10th nationally in kill average with 4.82 per game. She led the league in kills for the third consecutive season. Figueiredo averaged over 5.50 points per game against nationally ranked teams in 2003.

Kim Ford, a 5-10 outside hitter for Cal State San Bernardino, is a senior from Etiwanda, California. Ford, a three-time AVCA All-American, averages 3.96 kills, 3.21 digs and 0.82 blocks per game in helping the Coyotes to their first Elite Eight berth. Ford became the school's all-time leader in both kills and digs late in the 2003 season.

Kari Holmgren, a 5-9 setter for North Dakota State University, is a senior from Elk River, Minnesota. Holmgren led the Bison to a .232 team attack percentage with 12.87 assists per game in her final year of eligibility. She contributed 3.35 digs, 0.50 blocks and 0.63 kills per game. Holmgren is one of three NDSU setters to finish with at least 4,000 assists and 1,000 digs in a career.

Ashley Moffitt, a 5-6 setter for the University of North Alabama, is a senior from Shepardsville, Kentucky. Moffitt leads all NCAA Division II players in assist average in 2003 with 14.50 per game. She has helped the Lions to a .294 team attack percentage, which ranks seventh in Division II. Moffitt ranks fourth in Division II history with 6,812 assists.

Cathleen Price, a 5-11 middle blocker for Cal State San Bernardino, is a junior from Gresham, Oregon. Price is connecting for a .392 hitting percentage, which ranks 16th in Division II, in her first season a full-time starter. She averages 1.05 blocks, 2.96 kills and 0.31 aces per game in 2003. Price has helped the Coyotes to their first Elite Eight Tournament berth.

Rachael Shedd, a 5-10 setter for Truman State University, is a senior from Omaha, Nebraska. Shedd, the MIAA Most Valuable Player, ranked 19th in Division II for assists per game with 12.74, a new school single-season record. She ended her career ranked fifth at Truman in career assists and fourth in career assist average. Shedd was the MIAA specialist of the week five times.

Ashley Walton, a 5-10 middle blocker for Edinboro University, is a senior from Manchester, Pennsylvania. Walton, a two-time AVCA All-America selection, ranked fifth in the NCAA for hitting percentage at .431 and 11th in kills per game at .480. She added 1.08 blocks per game to the Fighting Scots defense. Walton holds the school record with 1,906-career kills.

Dina Wathan, a 5-10 outside hitter for Pittsburg State University, is a senior from Blue Springs, Missouri. Wathan finished second in the nation in digs per game with 5.74, along with 3.91 kills per game. She helped the Gorillas to a school-record 26-8 record. Wathan was named MIAA Player of the Week twice in 2003.
